macOS 10.15.4 Broke my FortiClient

When I installed the macOS 10.15.4, my FortiClient was failing when connecting to any one of my customer’s VPNs.  I tried on another MacBook and it worked fine.  “Connection Error” was the error I was getting….

The Issue

The issue appears to be related to Apple phasing out the Kernel extension (KEXT).

The Fix

Re-install the FortiClient install package from the EMS server.

Pretty simple, but I was troubleshooting all kinds of other things and finally decided to re-install.

I have not tested this on the FortiClient free versions, that is the VPN only client so if you run into this and it works, let me know so I can update this article.
