Renaming HA Fortigate Firewall after it is in HA Cluster

If you are ‘IT-OCD’ like me, you hate to connect to a Fortigate and see that the devices have their Serial Numbers as hostnames, or worse yet, one with a hostname and the other with a serial number. This is a very simple thing to fix and for my sanity, please do it :-).

As you can see in this screenshot, this is one of those situations that hurts my eyes. Seeing one name (1) and the serial number (2) of the other.

Right Click on the Slave Unit from the GUI (or the Master).

Choose ‘Edit‘

Now name the device correctly (Note: You can also change the priority of the unit).

Save it and life is in balance again.
